In Her Own Words
10/17/2017
“If it weren’t for Hope House, I would be working at McDonald’s.”
These are the words of Alisha, one of our teen moms who is truly beating the odds.
Poverty, homelessness, abuse and addictions at home… these are the kind of issues most of our teen moms face. However, with support, these young women can overcome the most daunting of obstacles.
Take Alisha. She first joined our GED Program and quickly earned her GED certificate – even though she had not been in school since she was 14 years old!
Then she moved on to our College & Career Program and recently completed her CNA at Colorado CNA Academy. Today Alisha is taking pre-nursing courses at Red Rocks Community College and one day will be the first in her family to earn a college degree!
Alisha is creating a beautiful future for herself and her daughter Zarainna!
