Eligibility Requirements
Teen Mom Requirements
• Be a Hope House mom (completed orientation and connections meeting).
• Tour the Early Learning Center (ELC) with the enrollment specialist.
• Complete a parenting questionnaire with the parent educator at Hope House to inform parenting supports that might be needed, like cultural considerations, language barriers, etc.
• Complete the ELC application (including parenting intake, formal legal parenting orders if applicable, any documents that will support compliance with licensing regulations, general health appraisal, immunization record, medical action plan if needed with doctor’s signature, legal parenting order if applicable).
• Have active CCCAP (Colorado Child Care Assistance Program) in place or a final application has been submitted and CCCAP eligibility requirements have been met and verified by the economic navigator at Hope House or county case manager.
• Meet with an assigned Hope House staff quarterly to set goals and check in on self-sufficiency progress.
• Have reliable transportation to and from the ELC.
• Supportive of child receiving behavioral supports and early intervention if identified and needed to support the development and/or safety of the child.
Child Requirements
• Complete family care plan, which includes child attending at least one 3-hour session in an early learning classroom to meet the child and completed screening assessments (ASQ). Additional sessions might be required to complete the plan.
• Child’s medical or behavioral needs are within Hope House’s scope of service. If outside the scope of services, staff will support the mom in finding alternative care or resources.
Staff Requirements
• Full-time (40-hours per week or more) Hope House Colorado (HHC) employees are eligible to enroll their children in the Hope House Colorado Early Learning Center (ELC). Exceptions may be considered for part-time staff and part-time child care needs on a case-by-case basis.
• HHC employees will follow the ELC’s enrollment and waitlist policy. ELC early learning teachers will jump to the top of the waitlist for the classroom age group their child(ren) needs, followed by other HHC employees. Tenure, hard-to-fill positions and retention needs may also be taken into consideration when determining enrollment priority on a case-by-case basis.
• Employees are able to use CCCAP (Colorado Child Care Assistance Program), Colorado Preschool Program and any other forms of child care assistance available, to cover their child care expenses if eligible. Hope House will assist staff in understanding child care assistance options and will assist with application processes as well.
• Employees who are paying individually and are not eligible for other types of child care assistance will receive a 30% discount on the listed private pay child care rates. Child care payments will be collected following the process outlined in the ELC Parent Handbook.
